The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking qualified sources for infrastructure upgrades in support of Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) at the Togus VA Medical Center in Augusta, Maine. This construction project encompasses a broad range of electrical, HVAC, security, IT, and civil improvements across multiple campus buildings. The work scope includes architectural demolition and renovation, structural changes, electrical upgrades such as new panels and critical power distribution, as well as upgrades and expansion of HVAC systems and controls. Additional requirements include data communications enhancements, such as a complete recabling to CAT 6A, fiber backbone improvements, and installation of new IT infrastructure components.
Civil site work involves installation of concrete duct banks, manholes, and restoration of site conditions, along with asbestos and lead abatement, radon mitigation systems, and fire suppression and alarm upgrades. Physical security enhancements will address access control, intrusion detection, and security cameras in accordance with project drawings. The project will be delivered using a Design–Bid–Build approach under a firm-fixed-price contract, with final specifications and drawings made available during the solicitation. Anticipated construction magnitude is between $50,000,000 and $100,000,000, and the planned project duration is approximately 730 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.
