This RFP seeks vendors to provide workers’ compensation claims administration services, specifically as Third–Party Administrators (TPA) for self–insured workers’ compensation programs in California. Vendors are expected to deliver an innovative and streamlined claims management process that prioritizes customer service, robust reporting capabilities, reliable technology infrastructure, proactive management of absences, competitive rates, and strict compliance requirements.
Responsibilities include administering workers’ compensation claims from initial injury through final resolution, establishing and maintaining complete electronic claim files, adjusting claim reserves, conducting intake and investigations, and ensuring seamless continuity of claim handling. Vendors must prepare and file all necessary notices and documentation, comply with statutory record retention, coordinate medical treatment and evaluations, process medical bills, monitor treatment progress, manage litigated claims, and serve as the primary contact for claim-related inquiries. The administration of indemnity, medical, and expense costs, provision of dedicated account management, and nurse case management are also required.
Coordination with defense counsel and monitoring legal strategy and costs are essential, along with effective tracking and allocation of claim-related expenses. All questions regarding the RFP must be submitted by February 27, 2026.
