The government authority in Los Angeles, California, seeks a vendor to provide services for a wildfire safety and risk mitigation program. The selected agency will serve as the Lead University responsible for establishing a Center that will interface with key stakeholders to advance wildfire mitigation and risk reduction efforts. This includes developing and deploying a specialized Model, with support from consortium members possessing relevant expertise.
The Center must outline a strategic approach to achieve self-sustainability, ensuring future funding for activities such as Model maintenance, performance monitoring, and ongoing improvements. Efforts should be demonstrated in building a user base and implementing strategies for the Center to maintain financial independence. The vendor will engage with stakeholders including tribal nations, disadvantaged and vulnerable communities, and fire management professionals from various government and community organizations.
A key deliverable is to provide CDI with a summary overview of the Event Catalogs and Hazard Module, addressing modeling of fire ignition, spread, abatement, fire regimes, and climate change considerations, in addition to strategies regarding smoke treatment. The contract period will be for one year, and all questions must be submitted by April 22, 2026.
