The organization is seeking a vendor to provide a web-based point-of-sale (POS) system complete with comprehensive self-service capabilities accessible through web portals. The solution must feature a responsive design, allowing seamless use across PCs, phones, and tablets. The system should have a user-friendly interface incorporating visual pointers, buttons, checkboxes, or indicators for easy selection, and must be compatible with Windows 11 OS or newer.
The POS platform must support the latest versions of leading desktop browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Edge, and Safari. It is required to prevent users from scheduling multiple individuals in a single appointment and to ensure privacy by restricting access to the identities of other customers booked in the same time slot. Self-service access for external customers is mandatory, with email required as a field, and automated confirmations that integrate with Outlook, Google, and Apple calendars.
Additional requirements include a calendar/appointment book accessible via a web interface, automated generation of a customer ID required for all appointment types, robust purchase order creation and editing, label printing from inventory entries, and the ability to initiate web API calls for workflow automation, including customer data lookup and validation.
Best-fit vendors:
• Developer of POS systems with responsive web interfaces
• Experience integrating appointment scheduling and self-service portals
• Proven ability to support browser and OS compatibility requirements
• Capability in workflow automation and API integration
• Familiarity with customer privacy and secure scheduling features
• Prior work with governmental or institutional clients
