The Department of Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences in Virginia is seeking to procure a Compact Dual Polarimetric X–Band Doppler Weather Radar System. This advanced radar system must be capable of collecting real-time, high-resolution weather radar data, images, and associated data products.

The data generated by this system will support major academic courses, faculty-led instruction, and hands-on, project-based learning opportunities for students. Additionally, it will play a key role in both Capstone and independent research projects focused on radar meteorology, severe and extreme weather events, and mesoscale meteorological phenomena. This procurement aims to enhance educational and research activities in the field of atmospheric sciences.
