The client is seeking a vendor to provide a Video Imaging Vehicle Detection System (VIVDS) for roadway intersections. This system must be capable of monitoring and detecting vehicle presence at the stop line by processing video images and delivering detector outputs to a traffic controller or similar device.

The software should support detection of both approaching and departing vehicles across multiple traffic lanes. Users must have the ability to redefine detection zones as needed, with each detection zone programmable to identify specific vehicle travel directions. Detection zones should only activate for vehicles traveling in the programmed direction, avoiding false activation from other directions.

The system must reliably detect vehicle presence in at least 12 detection zones within the combined camera field of view, ensuring accurate performance in designated areas. Questions regarding this RFP must be submitted no later than March 4, 2026.

Best-fit vendors:

• Proven experience in traffic management and video imaging systems

• Ability to deliver reliable vehicle detection solutions for public infrastructure

• Expertise in programmable and multi-lane detection software

• Prior work with government or municipal clients in Texas
