The State of Michigan is seeking a vendor to provide a comprehensive vehicle camera system equipped with cloud-based fleet management capabilities, AI-powered driver analytics, and integrated hardware solutions. The desired system should support scalable operations for a mixed fleet by offering cloud-based browser and mobile access to fleet maintenance software. Key features include scheduling preventative maintenance, tracking service history, asset management, and compliance reporting, with GPS and telematics integration to enable predictive maintenance.
The hardware requirements include camera and recorder systems capable of 1080p resolution at 15–30 fps with day/night functionality, dynamic zoom, synchronized audio, GPS/time overlay, system health monitoring with alerts, and cryptographic metadata preservation. The video management component must allow video searches based on multiple parameters and provide evidence management tools.
Advanced driver behavior analytics are essential, leveraging AI to detect and flag issues such as distracted driving, hands-off-wheel, improper following distance, rolling stops, speeding, harsh braking or acceleration, seatbelt use, and mobile device usage. Integration with vehicle diagnostics is also sought to highlight mechanical issues and warning indicators. Open APIs and webhooks should facilitate interoperability with related fleet and dispatch systems. The anticipated contract will cover a three-year period, with a pre-proposal meeting scheduled and questions due in November 2025.
