A Kansas school district is seeking a vendor to provide a unified mass communication system designed to enhance districtwide notifications, messaging, and family engagement. The selected provider will be responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, and hosting (or supporting the hosting of) a comprehensive communication platform that consolidates multiple existing school and activity-level tools into a single, secure, and reliable solution.
Key requirements include support for mass notifications and emergency alerts delivered via voice, SMS, email, app push, and web postings. The platform must offer multilingual capabilities and accessibility features in compliance with ADA standards, ensuring compatibility with assistive technologies and braille transcription devices. Mobile applications for iOS and Android, as well as web-based access, must be available for staff, students, and families.
In addition to robust emergency and general communication tools, the system should provide family engagement features such as secure messaging, forms, surveys, and parent-teacher scheduling. The solution should also offer newsletter and marketing capabilities for both district and school communications. Integration with Skyward Qmlativ and other district systems via secure APIs or standard interfaces is required. The system must support role-based and audience-based messaging across district, school, classroom, activity, and athletics programs. The initial contract is intended to cover a three-year period.
