Third-Party Accounting Services

A government authority in Ottawa, Michigan is seeking a vendor to provide full-service third-party accounting services for a one-year contract term. The scope includes comprehensive accounting support across core financial operations and compliance-related activities.

Required services may include general ledger maintenance, bookkeeping, chart of accounts management, accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, payroll accounting support, journal entries, bank and account reconciliations, fixed asset and depreciation accounting, and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GASB standards.

The selected vendor may also support audit preparation and single audit activities, including year-end audit schedules, supporting workpapers, coordination with the authority's independent auditor, assistance with audit findings and corrective action plans, and support for state Triennial Review or State Management Review financial elements. Additional support may be required for lease accounting under GASB 87 and subscription-based information technology arrangements under GASB 96, including identification, measurement, and disclosure of applicable agreements.

Payroll and employee benefits management services may also be included, such as full-cycle payroll processing, payroll tax withholding, filing and remittance, employee benefits enrollment and reconciliation, and retirement or pension contribution processing and reconciliation.
