DESCRIPTION

This request for proposal seeks a contractor to provide swale mowing services for the government authority located in Santa Clara, California. The scope of work includes cutting overgrown grasses, cattails, and other vegetation within drainage swales down to 4 to 6 inches and removing all cut debris to maintain the swale's flood protection capability.

Mowing activities are restricted to the period after September 1 (post-burrowing owl breeding season) and must be completed by October 31 each year. The contractor is also responsible for repairing or replacing, at their own expense, any physical improvements (such as irrigation systems, landscaping, fences, mailboxes, and signs) damaged during the course of mowing, inspecting all sites for foreign objects prior to commencement, and providing a 48 to 72-hour notice to the City's Storm and Drain Supervisor and the designated Maintenance Worker before starting work.

The contract will cover one year. Questions related to the RFP must be submitted by May 27, 2026, and a mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for June 3, 2026.
