The system must integrate seamlessly with Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM and ERP, which are currently utilized for the district's human resources and payroll functions. Solutions tailored specifically to the needs of K–12 educational environments are preferred to ensure alignment with the operational realities unique to schools, staff, and student support services.

Key features required include online and mobile employee absence entry with built-in approval workflows, as well as automated substitute matching based on configurable criteria such as certification, location, seniority, and preferred substitute lists. The system should support bulk cancellations or modifications in the event of districtwide or site-specific closures caused by weather, emergencies, or similar incidents. This includes the ability to cancel by school, date range, or event type, and to automatically notify all impacted substitutes and employees.
