Connecticut is seeking a vendor to provide a modern Software as a Service (SaaS) Student Information System (SIS) to support K-12 schools across the state. The selected vendor will be responsible for full system implementation, user training, seamless integration with existing systems, operational support, and comprehensive ongoing maintenance services.
The SIS must support key functions including management of student demographics and records, enrollment and transfers, scheduling of courses and class sections, attendance tracking, gradebook and transcripts, and program tracking for specialized student needs such as English language learners and students with disabilities. Additional requirements include maintaining student health records and alerts, behavior and discipline management, and providing secure portals for parents, guardians, and students.
The solution must feature robust role-based security, complete audit logging of all user activity, and tools for standard and ad-hoc reporting, configurable dashboards, and data exports in non-proprietary formats. Vendors are expected to provide support for state and federal compliance reporting, perform accurate data mapping and conversions, and deliver and maintain all necessary infrastructure—including server resources, storage, networking, database, and backup or disaster recovery elements. High system uptime, accessibility, strong privacy, and compliance protections are critical to this engagement.
