The government authority in Lancaster, Pennsylvania is requesting proposals for the provision of structured communications cabling services. Required tasks include installation and termination of CAT6 cabling, single mode and multi–mode fiber, and speaker wire for paging or intercom systems. The scope also involves removing existing CAT5/CAT6 and fiber cabling, installing and mounting network racks, wireless access points, and security cameras, as well as performing other related structured cabling work.

Installers must ensure proper cable support hardware is in place; if J hooks are used, they should be positioned every five feet. A five-foot service loop is required on both ends of each cable run. Category 6 cable must be used for data runs unless otherwise specified, and all cabling runs must be no longer than 300 feet and free of breaks or splicing. Cabling should be continuously bundled along its path, using Velcro when possible.
