A project is being initiated in Alberta to develop a comprehensive strategy focused on enhancing women's midlife health through evidence-informed and prevention-focused care. The selected vendor will lead the development of this strategy, aimed at strengthening access to care, improving health literacy, and increasing support for women in midlife via primary care and community-based services.

Key objectives include supporting primary care teams to deliver menopause-related care by boosting their knowledge and confidence, with an emphasis on early identification, prevention, and proactive support. The project also seeks to normalize conversations around midlife health issues, increase awareness of symptoms and self-care options, and promote healthy lifestyle choices among women.

Furthermore, the strategy will reinforce access to community-based support and create a scalable, prevention-oriented model suitable for province-wide adoption. Essential components include embedding evidence-based clinical pathways, digital tools, and peer-led supports within existing systems to ensure long-term sustainability and readiness for broader implementation throughout Alberta.
