The client seeks a vendor to provide strategic consulting services focused on strategic planning, financial sustainability, and organizational development. The selected consultant will lead a collaborative, co-created strategic planning process, incorporating background research, process design, and participatory facilitation with key partners, while integrating financial considerations throughout.
Key responsibilities include facilitating the co-development of a realistic three- to five-year funding plan aimed at long-term sustainability and effective implementation of the strategic plan. The engagement involves conducting a financial health assessment at the outset and conclusion of the process, preparing a high-level implementation plan, performing feasibility analyses of diverse funding opportunities, and creating a prioritized funding strategy aligned with the center’s long-term objectives and the university's governance framework.
The consultant must use an iterative, responsive approach, consistently delivering incremental progress, seeking and incorporating feedback, and adapting as necessary to deliver practical outcomes for long-term success. The anticipated contract period is one year, with all initial questions to be submitted by April 8, 2026.
Best-fit vendors:
• Experienced strategic consulting firm with expertise in higher education or nonprofit sectors
• Proven track record in strategic planning, organizational development, and financial sustainability
• Skilled in participatory facilitation, iterative planning, and funding strategy development
• Familiarity with university governance structures
• Able to provide service in Colorado
