Scott House Renovation Services

The government authority in Novato, California, is seeking a qualified contractor to provide renovation services for the historic Scott House. The work includes selective demolition and removal of existing construction, remediation of lead-based paint on building interior elements, exterior window sash, the front door, and interior double doors. Some demolition and remediation activities have already been completed.

The project includes rehabilitation, repair, and alteration of the historic building, with preservation and repair of character-defining architectural features and finishes. Required work includes structural modifications and repairs; exterior building-envelope improvements such as roofing, flashing, waterproofing, siding, trim, windows, doors, painting, and weatherproofing; and interior improvements involving partitions, ceilings, flooring, doors, hardware, casework, finishes, toilet rooms, and accessibility upgrades.

Additional work includes construction or reconstruction of the front porch, stairs, railings, guards, foundations, and site connections; installation of a limited-use/limited-application elevator with associated structural, electrical, fire/life-safety, accessibility, and architectural work; and accessibility improvements throughout the property, including entrances, routes, toilet facilities, doors, hardware, signage, and related site improvements. Questions must be submitted by September 14, 2026, and proposals are due September 21, 2026.
