The state of North Carolina is seeking a vendor to deliver a comprehensive routing, payroll, and GPS operating system for school buses. The selected provider will supply all necessary materials, equipment (including servers), software, licenses, warranties, and will oversee installation, technical support, and training.

The system must support enhanced communications and reporting for school buses, enable tracking of employee work hours, monitor student ridership, and provide real-time GPS tracking for all vehicles. Additional requirements include turn-by-turn navigational support, route optimization for efficiency and safety, pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection processes with regular transmission to the Department of Public Instruction, and integration with the student information management system. The solution should also provide parents and guardians with appropriate access to relevant information about their children’s school transportation.

The contract will span five years.
