A qualified vendor is sought to develop a comprehensive wildfire risk management strategy for regional and community parks and trails in British Columbia. The project will encompass wildfire risk assessment, mitigation planning, education, and operational policy development across these outdoor areas.

Key responsibilities include conducting a wildfire risk inventory and gap analysis for all agency-managed parks and trails. The selected vendor will develop wildfire risk management policies, standard operating procedures, and inspection guidelines. Additionally, the project will require recommendations for integrating Wildfire Risk Management Strategies and Fire Smart Principles into existing and future management plans.

The scope also includes designing educational strategies for both the public and staff, and creating an actionable implementation plan that addresses vegetation management and the integration of Fire Smart practices. Stakeholder engagement will form an integral part of the project, including organizing public open-house events, workshops with local fire departments and agency staff, and conducting an online survey to gather broader public input. The overall goal is to enhance wildfire preparedness and resilience throughout the parks and trails network.
