A contracting opportunity is available for a vendor to manage a comprehensive recreational boat testing program and associated database system in Washington, DC. The scope of work encompasses inspecting boats at various locations such as manufacturer facilities, boat shows, dealers, and other designated sites to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.

The vendor will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the existing database, which is built on Microsoft SQL Server and leverages both open source and licensed software. The system is heavily integrated with Microsoft Azure cloud services, including Azure Block Storage for large file attachments. Power BI will be utilized for interactive data visualization, and API endpoints must be provided to facilitate data sharing with external websites. Data should be exportable for GIS mapping applications.

Additional responsibilities include gathering dealer data from both on-site visits and purchase tracking systems, as well as supporting the integrity, indexing, and querying of data. The vendor will also conduct boating safety outreach efforts and generate reports from testing and inspection activities, contributing to the overall enhancement of boating safety.
