A Michigan campus is seeking information from vendors regarding a modern point-of-sale (POS) system software to enhance operations across its campus stores. The required solution should deliver user-friendly POS functionality capable of supporting multiple physical store locations and provide robust inventory management, including mobile handheld support for inventory and pick-list workflows.

The new system must offer near real-time visibility into inventory levels, costs, and retail values by location and store-wide. It should include dashboards displaying key performance indicators such as sales, margin, transaction volume, average transaction values, loyalty sign-ups, inventory productivity, and gift card activity. Vendors are expected to provide seamless integration options with marketing, CRM, and email platforms, particularly for managing loyalty data. The solution should feature an integrated loyalty program available both at the register and online, enabling secure customer enrollment and email capture, with appropriate privacy controls.

Preference will be given to systems hosted on secure, commercially supported platforms, with an emphasis on cloud or software-as-a-service (SaaS) models. The POS must support a fully integrated online store, accommodate various tenders such as student charge programs posting to student accounts and campus cards, and handle tax-exempt sales with multi-rate tax processing capabilities. Additional requirements include comprehensive tools for inventory management, robust reporting and analytics covering sales, inventory, COGS, and daily tender activity, and adherence to hosting, security, and compliance standards suitable for processing payments and customer data.
