The state of California is seeking information from vendors regarding electronic timecard solutions aimed at modernizing timesheet processing and management. The primary objectives are to enhance accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and risk management in workforce operations through the implementation of electronic timecards.

Vendors are expected to provide solutions that facilitate testing of system functionality and user experience in real-world environments. The evaluation will focus on improvements in accuracy and efficiency relative to manual processes, as well as the system’s ability to handle submission, recording, and approval of standard time, overtime, and various leave types through workflow automation. The solution should also support the submission, review, and approval of a range of benefit times, such as vacation, illness, kin care, and personal necessity, and enable pre-approval and approval workflows for overtime requests.

Additionally, integration capability with SAP for HR and payroll synchronization will be assessed. Feedback and performance metrics collected during the pilot will inform the decision on organization-wide deployment.
