The government authority in Illinois is seeking information from vendors regarding defense research and engineering network services. The Defense Research and Engineering Network (DREN) serves as the wide area network component of the Department of Defense’s High Performance Computing Modernization Program.
DREN enables extremely high bandwidth, low latency, and low jitter communications to connect various Department of Defense communities, including science and technology, research and development, test and evaluation, modeling and simulation, and acquisition engineering. The network's aggregate site bandwidth has grown from 1.5 Gbps to 2 Tbps, reflecting the need for advanced networking solutions and scalability. Vendors are encouraged to submit questions prior to the specified deadline.
Best-fit vendors:
• Specialized in large-scale, high-bandwidth network infrastructure
• Experience serving defense or government agencies
• Proven expertise in low latency, high performance computing networks
• Capability to support bandwidth scaling up to several terabits per second
