The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) is preparing to solicit commercial prototype proposals aimed at enhancing tactical oceanography capabilities in support of full-spectrum undersea warfare. This initiative is designed to fund both nontraditional and traditional defense contractors to develop innovative onboard and offboard environmental sensors, situational awareness systems, and related technologies that improve the operational effectiveness of military personnel and supporting platforms for the Department of Defense.
The forthcoming Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) is anticipated to be released by mid-February 2026, with draft versions of the CSO, Statement of Work (SOW), and agreement terms already available for review. Proposals will be solicited in a competitive white paper format to ensure broad participation and the use of competitive procedures. Selected projects will adhere to a Statement of Work with security requirements ranging from Unclassified/CUI to Secret and TS/SCI levels. Companies interested in participating are encouraged to review the draft materials and submit any questions or feedback by February 6, 2026. The anticipated date for posting the final CSO is on or before February 13, 2026, with individual awards expected to begin around April 1, 2026.
