The client is seeking vendors to provide relocatable passenger vehicle scanning systems designed for rapid detection of contraband transported via people, cargo containers, and other conveyances entering through ports of entry and international mail facilities. The system must effectively scan vehicles moving at speeds between 3 and 10 mph and support a throughput of at least 150 vehicles per hour.
Key requirements include the ability to relocate the system to port entry or exit points, enable remote operation, and equip each system with an ambidextrous portal and tether (power cable) that can connect to either side. The system should be operational and ready to begin scanning within 20 minutes, even under variable environmental conditions. Additionally, the solution must provide real-time imaging with a display delay of no more than three seconds and feature a license plate reader (LPR) system capable of reading both front and rear plates.
Vendors must demonstrate technology and equipment suitable for high-throughput, on-the-move scanning of passenger vehicles at secure border and mail service environments, emphasizing reliability, speed, and ease of deployment.
Best-fit vendors:
• Proven expertise in vehicle scanning systems for security environments
• Experience with rapid deployment and relocatable technology solutions
• Ability to integrate real-time imaging and license plate recognition
• Prior engagements with ports of entry, customs, or border security agencies
• Track record of delivering high-throughput and reliable scanning solutions
