(1) Vendor needs to provide regional media advisors services.– Answer media queries submitted by email and phone (individual will be assigned specific geographic locations, which will include answering calls from pre–determined area codes) using pre–approved information (media lines, backgrounders, web content, etc.) to be supplied by the technical authority.– Make proactive media calls to pitch stories or provide clarifications to media in a pre–determined geographic area.– when a media query cannot be answered using existing approved content, research a response and pass the query on to staff according to approval protocols outlined by the technical authority.– log and evaluate requests for interviews.– As permitted under approval protocols established by the technical authority, conduct media interviews for print, online, and broadcast media.– Record and track all media requests in the template provided.– Compile statistics and reports on media requests and coverage.– Draft news releases, media advisories, media lines, communication strategies and other media relations–related documents.– Provide media relations and strategic communications advice to staff.– Provide advertising placement advice or assist in placing advertising in national and regional media.– produce and deliver to the technical authority a daily field report on regional and national media issues.– Must also work with Windows–compatible word processing software, various databases, and internet–based communications tools (wikis, Twitter, Facebook, etc.).(2) The contract period will be for five years.
