A consultant is sought to design, implement, and support a user-centered regional data portal in Massachusetts. The scope of work includes auditing existing datasets and reports to determine which should be migrated, restructured, or retired, as well as assessing internal capacity for ongoing data maintenance and governance.
The consultant will design a mobile-first, ADA-compliant portal with clear, topic-based navigation; community landing pages; embedded maps and dashboards; and downloadable data. Responsibilities include establishing the portal's architecture, data schema, tagging and search capabilities, cleaning and migrating legacy data, building custom dashboards, and developing a simple content management system for staff use.
Additional tasks involve coordinating a beta launch with municipal and community stakeholders, providing virtual training and showcase events for a range of users, creating video tutorials and user guides, and integrating user feedback mechanisms. The consultant will also plan for quarterly update cycles and assign data stewardship roles to support the portal's ongoing success.
