Ontario is seeking a vendor to provide a provincial genomic data platform architected as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution. The platform should support secure storage, analysis, and sharing of genomic data, facilitating real-time data sharing capabilities across the province's healthcare network. Seamless interoperability with existing healthcare systems and adaptability to emerging data exchange and terminology standards are essential requirements, ensuring it can accommodate future clinical innovations and integration of new data sources.
The platform must enable hospital and community-based clinicians, including physicians and allied health professionals, to access and utilize genomic insights for evidence-based decision-making and personalized care. Integration with the provincial ONE ID authentication and authorization system is required for clinical user access. The solution should also support secondary data analysis workflows, with essential quality control and preprocessing functionalities—such as trimming, filtering, and alignment—plus intuitive visualization tools to display genomic variant distributions, gene coverage, and population-level frequencies using clear charts or heatmaps.
The contract for this initiative will be for a period of two years.
