The City of Bristol, Tennessee is seeking a qualified consultant to provide comprehensive professional services for the master planning, design, engineering, and project coordination of a new aquatic and recreation center. The scope of work covers every phase of the project, including project management planning, site master planning, conceptual and detailed design development, engineering, and construction administration.
The selected firm will be responsible for developing a master plan to guide both the current project and future phases, encompassing both indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities. Features include leisure pools, splash and play areas, locker rooms, spectator seating, outdoor recreational pools with slides and splash pads, and all necessary support facilities. The recreation center component will include two full-size gymnasiums, a large multi-purpose and meeting room, fitness spaces, an indoor walking track, and restrooms. Site and infrastructure development will address parking, pedestrian access, landscaping, utilities, and stormwater management.
Consultants are expected to provide all planning, design, engineering, and modeling services needed for the center and its amenities, and to coordinate regular communication with project stakeholders. Their duties also encompass preparing preliminary concepts, detailed designs and cost estimates, construction documentation, bidding support, contractor coordination, and on-site construction observation. The resulting reference materials and project management documentation will support efficient administration and serve as resources for city staff, steering committee, and project partners throughout the entire lifespan of the project.
