Vendor needs to provide professional architectural and engineering services to the government authority located in North Port, FL. Winds from Hurricane Ian caused damage to both the roof assembly and windows. Existing roof is original to the facility, is non-compliant to current wind load requirements and has reached the end of its useful life. Windows have since been re-sealed, however, drawings indicate these assemblies are rated to a Cat 2 wind load. Installing impact resistant windows and doors and by replacing the roof system to meet current wind speeds in the area. Project shall provide systemic mitigation by protecting the entire building envelope. City Hall building serves as the City’s Emergency Operations centre (EOC) during emergencies and the loss of service of the facility would dramatically reduce the City’s ability to respond to emergency events and provide services to the community. These improvements shall strengthen the building envelope and reduce the potential for structural and content damage. Wind protection shall be provided on any other opening such as vents, louvers, and exhaust fans.
