The City seeks a vendor to provide and implement a comprehensive predictive maintenance telematics and analytics platform for its vehicle fleet. The proposed system must utilize real-time vehicle data, predictive analytics, and artificial intelligence to detect early signs of mechanical issues, forecast potential component failures, prioritize fault codes, and recommend appropriate maintenance actions.
The platform should be compatible with the City's existing telematics hardware where feasible and otherwise remain hardware-agnostic unless an alternative is proposed. It must collect and analyze engine diagnostics, vehicle usage, battery and electrical health, and a range of sensor data to support condition-based maintenance strategies and reduce unplanned downtime.
The vendor is required to provide an open, standards-based Application Programming Interface (API) that can integrate with the City's Fleet Management Information System (FMIS) and other relevant municipal systems. The API must support both real-time and batch data access, allowing for the automated retrieval of predictive alerts, fault codes (with severity levels), recommended maintenance actions, vehicle health insights, mileage, engine hours, and utilization statistics. The scope of work includes supplying all necessary hardware, software, analytics tools, integration services, and secure, compliant data storage.
Additional requirements may include providing telematics devices for both light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles, offering installation and removal services, and ensuring compatibility with existing devices when appropriate. The contract period will span two years.
Best-fit vendors:
• Experience deploying predictive maintenance telematics and analytics platforms for public sector fleets
• Expertise in AI-driven diagnostics, telematics hardware, and integration with FMIS
• Ability to provide open APIs and support both hardware-agnostic and hardware-integrated solutions
• Proven track record in secure vehicle data management and fleet technology implementation
• Familiarity with municipal contract requirements and two-year service agreements
