A school district in South Carolina is seeking a vendor to provide an integrated, network-based Windows Point of Sale (POS) system for student meal management. The POS solution must operate reliably within a Windows 11 environment, supporting both wired and wireless networks. In cases of lost network connectivity, the system should be capable of functioning autonomously for at least 15 days.
Key requirements include compatibility with the HP Engage One Pro All–in–One System (424ZOUT) and the ability to present terminal screens in both Spanish and English. The POS interface should support touch screen technology and student picture identification. It must allow for student identification by number (up to 12 digits), room, grade, or name, as well as programmable class rosters and meal eligibility settings. Immediate display of student notes and allergy information during transactions is essential.
Additional features should include prepayment acceptance via cash, check, or credit card, account balance display at the point of sale, tiered meal pricing, and options for cashier cash counting. The system must also support the definition of reimbursable meals, the ability to override or void transactions with reason codes, and processing sales for students without identification. The initial contract term for the selected vendor will be one year.
