The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) at Patuxent River, Maryland is seeking qualified support for upgrades to the Tactical Aircraft Moving Map Capability (TAMMAC) program under the PMA209 Air Combat Electronics Program Office. This project focuses on software integration and engineering support for the redesign of Digital Map Computer (DMC) and Digital Video Map Computer (DVMC) systems, as well as integration with the Flight Control Computer (FCC) to enhance the F/A–18 E/F & EA–18/G Automatic Ground Collision Avoidance Systems (AGCAS) program.
The scope of work includes integrating a new Automated Terrain Awareness Warning System (ATAWS) software module and updating the Interface Design Document (IDD), both provided as Government Furnished Equipment. The effort requires non-recurring engineering (NRE), technical support, and collaboration with third-party labs, in addition to supporting government-conducted flight testing of AGCAS enhancements. The overarching goal is to achieve automatic aircraft recovery to prevent Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT), ensuring compliance with the latest safety and airworthiness standards.
This opportunity aims to identify qualified firms capable of addressing avionics software upgrades beyond current legacy capabilities, supporting mission-critical systems such as AGCAS, DMC, and DVMC in Navy tactical aircraft.
