The selected contractor is required to provide comprehensive payroll audit review services for a government authority in California. The scope of work includes forensic payroll review with a focus on investigating, reconstructing, and correcting historical wage data discrepancies to ensure data accuracy. Experience with public sector compensation practices is preferred.
The vendor will be responsible for reviewing personnel and payroll records starting from March 1, 2020, in order to assess the implementation of earned raises, bonuses, and other compensation provisions relative to their respective effective dates. Audits of payroll records predating this timeframe may also be necessary to establish a full compensation history. The review will initially cover records for over 3,300 members, though this number may fluctuate due to various circumstances.
In addition, the contractor must identify compensation discrepancies and provide a plan for corrective measures and restitution for impacted personnel. The contract duration is set for one year.
Best-fit vendors:
• Proven expertise in forensic payroll review and auditing
• Demonstrated experience with public sector or government compensation systems
• Ability to manage large-scale audits encompassing thousands of records
• Based in or licensed to operate within California
• Track record of investigating and resolving complex wage discrepancies
