The system is expected to support receipt and registration of inbound packages, scanning and capture of package details such as carrier, tracking number, recipient, department, delivery location, and package category, and real-time status visibility from intake through final delivery confirmation. Additional requirements include route optimization for internal and off-site deliveries, chain-of-custody tracking, audit history, electronic proof of delivery, and exception management for delayed, misrouted, damaged, lost, returned, or undeliverable packages.
The solution must also accommodate priority, time-sensitive, temperature-controlled, and clinical deliveries, while providing automated notifications and alerts for recipients and logistics staff. Integration capabilities are required with Oracle E-Business Suite, organizational directory services, and other enterprise systems as needed. Reporting and dashboard functionality should cover package volume, delivery performance, package aging, service levels, exceptions, delivery confirmation, and chain of custody.
