The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is seeking industry input for designing, developing, testing, and manufacturing a system to augment the P–8A Multi-Functional Data Acquisition Unit (MFDAU). The goal is to eliminate the use of obsolete PCMCIA cards for flight data storage and provide an alternate solution compatible with the MFDAU for secure and seamless data transfer to ground stations. The system must also expand aircraft data recording capability using ARINC 429 and MIL-STD-1553 data buses.
The solution should include a method for decoding and displaying collected flight data for off-aircraft analysis. Currently, Teledyne’s AirFASE software is used, and new licenses are required for up to ten standalone applications and two hundred cloud-based users. The ideal solution would support both Microsoft Windows-based applications for small datasets and a cloud implementation for enterprise-scale datasets. Capability statements should address technical, management, and industrial security qualifications. Delivery is anticipated in FY26.
Best-fit vendors:
• Demonstrated experience in military or aerospace data acquisition system integration
• Capability in developing and certifying software for flight data analysis and secure storage
• Proficiency with ARINC 429 and MIL-STD-1553 data buses
• Familiarity with Teledyne AirFASE software licensing and integration
• Possession of required industrial security clearances
• Experience delivering solutions to U.S. Department of Defense agencies
