British Columbia is seeking a provider for an online lab booking solution designed to streamline the scheduling process for laboratory appointments. The solution should enable patients, families, clinics, and healthcare providers to efficiently and securely book, cancel, or reschedule laboratory appointments through a self-service platform. The system may be delivered as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), on-premises, or via a hybrid deployment model.

Core requirements include licensing for the lab booking software and secure cloud hosting within Canada, ensuring comprehensive data backup and disaster recovery provisions. The platform must be accessible via web browsers and mobile applications for Android and iOS. Key features should include self-booking and proxy booking (e.g., for family, clinics, or staff), appointment categorization (such as blood work or specimen pickup), and support for both walk-in and pre-scheduled appointments at outpatient facilities. The solution should display real-time wait times for all patients, offer configurable appointment limits and advance booking windows, and send notifications for confirmations, reminders, and cancellations.

Additional capabilities required are QR code-based on-site check-in, appointment management and overrides by lab staff, custom branding for different Health Authorities, facility schedule management (including closures and resource reallocation), and support for bookings across multiple time zones. The contract will be awarded for a five-year period.
