The Manhattan Veterans Affairs Medical Center in New York is preparing to solicit bids for the Construction Oncology Pharmacy Chiller USP 800 project, located at 423 East 23rd Street. This opportunity is set aside exclusively for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) under NAICS code 236220, focusing on commercial and institutional building construction.
The project involves the installation of a dedicated chiller and the upgrade of the 12 South Oncology Pharmacy cooling system. The scope includes converting Room 12099S into a mechanical room, meeting NFPA 80 requirements through door replacements and fire-rated gypsum board installation, replacing an existing window with an insulated metal panel and louver, and completing all necessary air supply, return ductwork, and exhaust system upgrades. Existing flooring, lighting, and sprinklers are to remain unchanged, while finishes must match current conditions.
Additionally, the contractor will provide and install a fully operational 6-ton Daikin constant refrigerant heat pump system, including vibration pads, condenser, DX coil, ductwork, system integration with building management controls (BMS), and installation of temperature and pressure gauges for current chilled water lines. A one-year labor warranty is required. All work must comply with manufacturer specifications, VA guidelines, and NFPA requirements, with project completion required within 180 calendar days of the notice to proceed.
Eligible bidders must be registered and verified as SDVOSBs in the appropriate government databases prior to contract award. A site visit will be scheduled, with details provided in the forthcoming solicitation, anticipated for release on or about March 17, 2026.
