The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order for preventative maintenance services on four ViaFreeze Quad and three ViaThaw MD/L1000 devices located in the Center for Cellular Engineering at its Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. These devices are classified under Medical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies, and are critical to the facility’s operations.

Preventative maintenance will be provided by Cytiva/Global Life Sciences Solutions USA LLC, the original manufacturer and sole provider of these specialized equipment services. This acquisition will be conducted under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, allowing for sole source selection when only one source is reasonably available.

Although this notice serves to inform of the intent to award on a sole source basis and is not a request for proposals or quotations, interested parties may express their interest and capabilities regarding this requirement. The decision to proceed with a non-competitive award will be at the discretion of the government.
