The government authority in Washington, DC is seeking vendors to provide comprehensive mobile technology passive optical network services. The required mobile platform must be self-sufficient for up to three days, incorporating alternative power sources such as solar, battery, or generator systems.
Vendors are expected to supply deployable antenna masts ranging between 20 and 60 feet, supporting both omni and directional antennas. The proposed solution should enable continuous WiFi coverage for up to five miles, facilitated by one or multiple mobile platforms, and ensure uninterrupted service. Integration with WiFi antennas for wireless end-user coverage is essential, as is interfacing with an existing Linear Ground Detection System fiber optic cable.
The solution must operate reliably under extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions typical of both southern and northern border regions. Additionally, the vendor is responsible for providing, deploying, and maintaining all end devices, such as Optical Network Terminals (ONTs) and WiFi access points.
Best-fit vendors:
• Demonstrated experience with mobile passive optical network deployments
• Capability to integrate power solutions such as solar, battery, and generators
• Experience with ruggedized, deployable communication platforms
• Proven track record of maintaining wireless networks in extreme environmental conditions
• Government contracting expertise
• Ability to provide all required end devices and perform ongoing maintenance
