A public agency in British Columbia is seeking a qualified vendor to deliver a comprehensive Microsoft 365 implementation service. The project scope includes configuring the Microsoft 365 tenant and migrating the agency’s on-premises environment to M365, with a focus on Exchange Hybrid, Teams (Chat Only), SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Defender. The engagement requires the contractor to work frequently onsite to facilitate a smooth transition and ensure all migration and setup tasks are completed efficiently.

Key responsibilities consist of validating and assisting with the opening of network ports needed for M365, upgrading Exchange, configuring auto-discover, establishing directory synchronization with Single Sign-On (SSO), and enabling seamless mail flow between on-premises and Exchange Online systems. The vendor will configure Exchange with new certificates, apply default sharing and storage policies, and limit usage to Teams and OneDrive as specified. There is an expectation for minimal customizations to SharePoint sites for IT teams and the implementation of Microsoft Purview for information protection, incorporating existing security and labeling policies where applicable.

The migration will follow a phased approach, starting with pilot users wherein all M365 applications and SSO functionality are implemented and tested across multiple platforms. A complete rollout to all users—except those specified as exceptions—is to be conducted after a successful pilot phase. The chosen vendor will provide ongoing support throughout the migration, configuration, and deployment process.
