DESCRIPTION

A government authority in Alberta is seeking a vendor to provide a Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service. The selected vendor will be responsible for supplying required hardware and software licenses, implementing and integrating the solution, training the Help Desk, and managing the service after implementation. The proposed solution should leverage the organization’s existing Good Samaritan licensing and installed technologies to optimize costs and consolidate capabilities where possible.

The scope includes data ownership and management, including a mechanism for returning all data at the end of the contract, as well as systems administration, patching, and configuration. Vendors must provide a Work Breakdown Structure covering planning, testing, integration and deployment, and training, with all required work identified at each level.

The vendor will also be expected to develop a Cyber Incident Response Plan and conduct a tabletop exercise. Proposals should explain capabilities for analyzing data from multiple technologies to deliver real-time security incident alerting, consulting support for high-priority findings, and log collection limitations related to event rates, data volumes, or source types. Required capabilities include endpoint prevention, ransomware resilience and recovery, asset discovery and attack surface hygiene, and mobile threat defense.
