DESCRIPTION

The Town of North Hempstead is requesting proposals from qualified law firms authorized to do business in New York State to provide specialized legal services on an as-needed basis. The scope of work includes federal and state court litigation, commercial litigation, personal injury matters, municipal law, real estate transactions, regulatory agency representation, contract negotiation, and collections. The panel will be qualified for a term of five years. Selected firms must work closely with the Office of the Town Attorney and meet specific insurance and experience requirements.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Must be authorized to do business in the State of New York
All attorneys must be duly admitted to practice before the Courts of the State of New York and in good standing
All attorneys must possess experience in relevant practice areas for municipalities in New York
Supervisory attorneys must possess at least ten years of experience in relevant matters
Must maintain Attorney Professional Liability insurance with limits of at least $2,000,000 per claim and $2,000,000 aggregate
Must maintain Commercial General Liability insurance with limits of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate
Must maintain Workers' Compensation and Disability/Paid Family Leave insurance as required by New York State law
Must provide an initial report and quarterly status reports thereafter
