DESCRIPTION

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University (SUNY-DHSU) is procuring language and interpretation services to assist Limited English Proficiency (LEP) patients. The scope includes phone and video interpretation, secure HIPAA-compliant connections, certified American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation, translation platforms and portals, and in-person interpretation, all available 24/7/365. The contract term is five years.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Must have at least five years of experience providing language services to hospitals, medical centers, and large medical offices
Must be able to staff and provide all in-person and on-site resources in the United States within 72 hours of request
Must guarantee 24/7/365 coverage for language services
Must submit three references from hospitals, medical centers, or large medical offices with an outpatient ambulatory setting (at least one reference must be based in New York State)
Must have data security protocols meeting HIPAA requirements
Must provide in-person interpretation for Haitian Creole, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Mandarin, and ASL
Must provide video and telephonic interpretation for a specified list of 25+ and 100+ languages respectively
Must provide nationally certified (RID) and state-licensed ASL interpreters with over five years of medical interpreting experience
Must provide all necessary hardware including phones, tablets, and dual headsets
Must execute a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement
