The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), through its Network Contracting Office (NCO) 20, is conducting market research to identify potential sources for providing Lab Management Software (LMS) and digital lens calculation solutions for the Boise VA Medical Center. The selected contractor will be responsible for supplying all necessary LMS software, programming support, labor, equipment, and IOT digital lens calculation data. Solutions must include access points for Opticom and VisionWeb and allow the VA to deliver continual, comprehensive LMS software support for the production of ophthalmic eyewear to eligible veterans.
The VISN 20 Optical Fabrication Laboratory anticipates manufacturing between 100,000 and 200,000 pairs of ophthalmic eyewear per year. The scope includes providing LMS software and digital lens design compatibility for a wide array of lens materials and styles, including single vision and progressive lenses across multiple substrates. Essential requirements include seamless integration with VA IT systems such as CPRS, VISTa, and CERNER, full operational compatibility with Satisloh Digital surfacing equipment, and robust remote ordering capabilities.
Contractors must demonstrate active compatibility with VHA IT systems and offer 24-hour telephonic and online technical support, unlimited remote order entry, electronic messaging, and customizable reporting. Additional responsibilities include providing hardware, continuous system updates, literature, and staff training on the provided systems, covering areas such as remote order entry, inventory control, electronic ordering, analytics, job tracking, lab integration, and production monitoring.
