The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) is preparing to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the operations and maintenance of 14 United States International Monitoring System (IMS) waveform monitoring stations. This contract will cover a five-year period beginning in April 2026, with a possible overlap for transition starting from February or March 2026 to ensure continuity of service.

The stations included in this requirement consist of eight Infrasound (IS), one Primary Seismic (PS), and five Auxiliary Seismic (AS) sites, each originally designed and installed under the NACT program and certified by the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) Provisional Technical Secretariat (PTS). The Palmer Infrasound Station is a recent installation and may still be undergoing CTBTO certification at contract start.

Each site features a unique, custom design tailored to site-specific considerations to maximize data quality, data availability, and operational sustainability. The resulting contract is expected to be either cost-reimbursement or cost-plus-fixed-fee, with a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods.
