DESCRIPTION
This RFI seeks a vendor to provide an image sharing solution capable of streamlining medical image and report exchange. The system should automatically pre-fetch relevant images and reports from both commercial and private sector imaging providers, triggered by upcoming appointments, procedures, or community consultations related to patient care events.
Key requirements include patient matching to link inbound data with existing patient records and automatic order generation for VA accession numbers. The solution must facilitate electronic requests, enabling community care providers to request and exchange information electronically, eliminating the traditional reliance on faxes.
Additionally, the system should provide VISN 16 with capabilities to perform broadcast queries to private sector providers to locate prior images and reports related to community-provided care. It should also streamline result retrieval and order management by community care providers, significantly reducing manual follow-up and communication delays.
