A government authority in South Portland, Maine, is seeking vendors to provide comprehensive highway construction and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) installation services. The scope of work includes conducting thorough geotechnical analyses, site visits to assess surficial conditions, and coordinating subsurface exploration programs. This effort involves performing 169 test borings and geophysical borehole tests to evaluate subsurface conditions necessary for the construction of the bypass mainline, five culverts, and bridges at Henderson Road, Northern Railway, and Easton Road.

Laboratory testing will be required to determine the engineering properties of site soils and bedrock. Vendors will also perform geotechnical engineering analyses focused on pavement design, drainage considerations, rock slope stability, and catchment evaluations. Additionally, analyses are needed for foundation types and design parameters for proposed bridges and retaining walls, including seismic considerations and lateral earth pressures. The selected vendor will be responsible for developing tailored geotechnical engineering recommendations to inform bridge and highway construction.

The contract resulting from this solicitation will be for a term of two years.
