The Texas Mobility Authority is seeking a qualified consultant to provide government relations services, legislative tracking, and strategic support. The chosen consultant must have established professional contacts with key decision makers, including statewide elected officials, members of the Texas Legislature, Congress, and local elected officials. A deep understanding of both current and forthcoming legislation relevant to the Authority’s interests, along with the capability to efficiently track legislative developments, is required.

The consultant will be expected to develop and implement creative strategies that foster new relationships between the Mobility Authority and various federal, state, and local agencies, as well as public and private entities that can benefit the Authority’s mission. Responsibilities include analyzing the Authority’s operational and fiscal objectives, proactively assisting in the development of a legislative agenda and strategy, helping prepare for legislative hearings, and responding to legislative inquiries.

Additional duties involve providing timely legislative updates at board meetings when requested and keeping the Authority informed about the status of pending legislation and rulemakings. Collaboration with the Authority’s communications staff to support priority projects and enhance communication with policymakers is also an integral part of this role. The contract term for this engagement is four years.
