The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Omaha District is seeking bids from qualified small businesses for the construction of a wet well, intake, and pumphouse on Lake Sharpe at Fort Thompson, South Dakota. This project involves the installation of a new raw water intake system and the construction of a 14'x16' climate-controlled concrete masonry unit (CMU) building. The facility will feature a rooftop hatch opening, a gravel road for access from the main road, and a concrete pad designed for the loading and unloading of heavy equipment.

Key components to be housed within the new pumphouse include a wet well, vertical turbine pumps, an airburst system, a zebra mussel mitigation system, a portable eye wash station, and SCADA equipment. A new raw water line will also be installed to connect the intake to existing infrastructure. This opportunity is set aside exclusively for small business firms under NAICS Code 237990 (Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction), and all interested contractors must be actively registered in the System for Award Management (SAM).

A formal site visit is tentatively planned for January 13, 2026, with further details to be provided in the solicitation documents. This contract will be awarded as a Firm Fixed-Price agreement following a two-step sealed bidding process.
