The province of Alberta is seeking the services of an expert in forest products trade to support analysis and reporting activities. The selected contractor will be responsible for providing detailed data and insights on forest harvest and production statistics, including forest inventory harvest data, logging and harvesting costs, and sawmill productivity metrics.

The scope of work includes collecting and analyzing logging, loading, and hauling data and associated costs. The expert will assess the allocation of whole log volumes—specifically, determining the share used in softwood lumber and lumber co-products versus non-lumber products. Additionally, the contractor is expected to produce separate memoranda summarizing findings from various surveys and analyses, and perform calculations related to imputed profit and the profit earned by log sellers.
